Welcome to Waeve Collective located in Brisbane, QLD, Australia. I'm Tayla and I am the warm, bubbly personality behind the camera. Waeve Collective came to life when I was gifted my Dad's camera. Growing up Dad and I were always taking photographs of landscapes and even attended a photography workshop together, while Mum was always taking photos on her phone capturing the memories of each and every holiday. Going back home to New Zealand and visiting family, Nana always had her camera out capturing family portraits and beautiful sunsets, so I guess you could say I was destined to end up on this path.
Growing up I never knew the importance of capturing photos until I sadly lost my little brother to suicide in 2016. As you can imagine the grief is strong and it's only now that I am so grateful for all the family photos and videos we got together. Let this be your sign to get those photos while you can, because one day they will be all the memories you have left.
I have extensive knowledge in the modelling industry thanks to modelling for 6 years in Brisbane, Australia. During this time I did numerous photoshoots, runways and pageants, even having the opportunity to travel internationally. And now I get to bring this knowledge to you! I have also worked in the social services industry since 2021 and have been referred to by others as a social butterfly. I aim to ensure you feel comfortable in my presence so we can bring your visions to life. So let's get working together.
My approach
Getting your photo taken can sometimes be nerve racking, especially if you aren't usually comfortable being in front of the camera. I aim to ensure you feel calm and relaxed throughout our session together.
Candid moments are an absolute favourite of mine so I will always be snapping away and will always provide small prompts so that we can capture a range of photos.
